Conduct California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) project analysis and reviews directly or through contractors.
Review environmental documents from applicants and agencies.
Monitor compliance with conditions of approval and Mitigation Monitoring.
Prepare and review CEQA documents, such as exemptions, initial studies, and Negative Declarations.
Administration and Management
Attend departmental meetings as needed.
Assist the Director with policies and procedures.
Review performance metrics with the Director.
Approve correspondence and reports.
Support the Planning Commission and City Council.
Help forecast workload and evaluate budget needs.
Represent the department in meetings with the City Manager and agencies.
Manage project assignments and coordinate with relevant agencies.
Long Range Services
Preparing long-range plans, including the General Plan and zoning ordinances.
Developing housing elements, implementing/action plans, and conducting annual reviews.
Researching infill development and zoning codes.
Engaging in climate action planning and community outreach.
Addressing the needs of disadvantaged communities and updating service reviews.
Utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for planning.
Creating media content for parks, trails, and urban agriculture.
